so for the last almost at least 4 weeks I've been sticking to eating only 1300-1500 calories, minimal work outs right now as I'm working about 13 hours a day with a two hour commute all together. Even if I have a "bad day" which isn't often at all, I've been tracking it and eating healthy around it. Anyway I've only lost about 1 lb- no gaining but I'm feeling like I'm doing something wrong. I'm doing at least 70 grams protein 80/100 carbs or less and 25 or more grams of fiber. Also keeping fat way down. I'm sure I'm not the only that's been in this position so any advice is welcomed.

Weight? Height? Are you tracking everything and accurately? What's your sodium level?

First, it's not about WHAT you are eating, it's how much. So do you weigh everything you eat on a food scale? Are you estimating portion sizes?

You need healthy fats and they are good for satiety so add them back in (Low fat diets went out with the 80's).

Log "bad" days (I'm assuming these are days where you eat over your calories, not that you ate a "bad" food, but their are no bad foods). To avoid "bad" days, plan ahead what you'll eat. If you eat out or go out with the girls for a drink, plan ahead an allow yourself to enjoy that, but no more. Then you've had a treat, but you still stuck to your goals.

I lost 20lbs in 4 months last year by only eating within my calorie goal. I didn't workout unless I felt like talking a walk...so it's not the exercise. I think you are eating more than you think and maybe these "bad" days are cancelling out your defiecent for the week.

To Kristen: the highest I went on a bad day for calories was 1650. I've been eating healthy fats and I do portion out everything but veggies honestly. I buy a 16 package of lean turkey ground and separate it into 4 oz servings and do that with other foods - cheese is a weakness so I have to portion that before I use it otherwise I'd eat it all. I've gotten more into meal planning too.
I can see what you're saying that there's no bad foods because who doesn't like a treat but maybe I've just got to stick it out more.

Too little information to give good advice.

How big is your calorie deficit? If your calorie deficit is very small, than it's easy to eat the calories all back in a "bad" day. Especially with calorie dense food like cheese.

What you eat is not as important as how much you eat (regarding wheight loss). If you can controll yourself you can lose weight by only eating choclate bars (not recommending that).

How much weight do you "need" to lose. It's muchg easier to lose a lot of weight when you have a BMI of over 35 than a BMI of 26.
