Hi
so im on recovery week in my first month i lost 7lbs and 16inches i lost the the 7lb in the first 2 weeks and the other 2 i haven't lost a lb but i am losing inches each week.
why is this.
ive also dropped 2 bra sizes and down 1 trouser size,
My Dr is giving me a hard time for not losing alot of weight and doesn't seem to be bothered about the inches lost.
i eat 1300-1500 cals a day.
and drink 2 liters maybe more of water a day.

Doctors are usually super behind the times on nutrition and fitness. He was probably trained like 20 years ago, and hasn't kept up much since then. Don't sweat it.0

Your doctor's an idiot. Maybe test your body fat % and see where it has gone... Doctors only want to go by BMI and it's a bunch of crap. OBVIOUSLY you are working out. OBVIOUSLY you are losing fat. OBVIOUSLY you don't need his "quick-to-assume, can't take the time to completely assess my patient" attitude.0

You're converting fat to muscle while doing Insanity (I've done it multiple times) and that's the reason you're not losing weight but inches. Muscle is more dense than fat therefore it takes up less room so the inches will come off but your weight stays the same. People will tell you that muscle weighs more than fat but they are wrong.. a pound is a pound. It just has to do with the difference in composition of muscle and fat.0

Most general practicing doctors only have 8 hours of nutrition training as part of their initial training. Anything else they may have done is above and beyond on their own time. If you'd like specific support, try a registered dietician (free in Canada, not sure about elsewhere in the world).
It's pretty typical to lose a bigger amount of weight, and then stall out a bit as you've done. However, the fact that you've clearly changed the composition in your body in terms of bra and trouser size shows that you are being very successful!0 -
I am going through the same thing. I am starting my 4 week. I went to the Doctor's on Friday and because I haven
t lost any weight but gained he wasn't happy with me at all. He told me to eat 1200 calories a day. I told him no way that I was unable to do that because of the program that I was on. He said work out more and I said unable to do that too because the program was enough already. He is aware of Insantiy, but I don't think he cared at all, but only about the weight coming off.0 -
I agree with above posters! You are building new muscles which of course weights more but your body will look smaller! Tell your doctor to do his research and to ditch the stupid BMI chart he has on his wall!0

By the way, congrats on the great success you have had so far! I am 2 days away from recovery week and I am going to check my results on Tuesday0
