Saw a drink that consists of:
4 to 6oz of water
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
Dash of cayenne pepper
Optional: lemon juice
Has anyone tried this? It's supposed to reduce belly fat, help with bloating and digestion.

Yeah, no.
This idea of drinking cider vinegar dates back to the Victorian times.
It's just another 'cleanse', you'll poo and pee and lose some water weight, and then if you're not so lucky, your stomach will cramp up and you'll puke. If you are lucky, and your stomach doesn't cramp up, you'll still have been better off just drinking a couple glasses of water, putting the cayenne pepper on your soup for lunch, and leaving cider vinegar to be salad dressing.2 -
It has a diuretic and laxative effect and will cause you to lose water weight that you will gain back. There is a possibility of diarrhea as well.2

It's a scam, it's snake oil. Only thing that gets rid of belly fat is a calorie deficit.1 -

My little cousin drinks it after she ate too much. She's thin (like Medium clothes at 5'9" not like XS). She also works out a lot but her diet often sucks she's a huge eat out for breakfast person. She swears by that drink lol0

If you are considering this as a way to trim belly fat then I would suggest going back to the beginning of the general weight loss board and reading the stickied threads. These threads will explain what is needed for weight loss ( deficit ) and what is just diet myths ( wraps, pills, shakes, and so on )
There's no shame in being new and not knowing better . we all start somewhere. Most of us started out believing these types of myths . start by reading the stickied notes and you'll have a better understanding of how this all works !2 -

I actually exercise everyday and have a well balanced diet. I am losing without it I just wanted to know. I'm getting married in three months I have time to lose my desired weight. I just want an extra boost if I can get one. I want to make sure I look good in my dress.

Lol thanks for the comment. I have heard several people say it works but I wanted to do a little more research

I haven't tried it personally. I've added apple cider vinegar to my smoothies for other benefits because I can't take the smell or taste lol and she hates the taste but walks around and sips it during the day. There are clearly better solutions out there but every little bit helps if it works.0

In the JJ Smith use, it's a detox. It's meant to flush the system to help the body rid you of toxins. It's not meant to make you lose weight.
It's not a "snake oil" diet. Simply a detox cleanse method.0 -

If you really need to detox, doctors will help. Vinegar does nothing. Less than your kidneys do every day.2 -

Ha! given my particular digestive issues these apple cider threads are starting to convince me it might just be the cure-all I need

And if your body was unable to detoxify itself, doctors would put you on dialysis. Not vinegar.4 -
It's really helpful for constipation0

Thanks for the heads-up!
I had a random thought - why don't they have apple cider pills (with the mother of course) since the stuff tastes so awful taken straight? I would think that with the right marketing that could be a multi-million dollar enterprise. Hmm, I'm having a go-fund-me moment...0 -

They do make apple cider vinegar capsules, but i dread to think how many of them you'd have to pop everyday to equal 2TBS.0 -

You could turn it into a game of "will I make to the BR in time!"concordancia wrote: »kk_inprogress wrote: »It has a diuretic and laxative effect and will cause you to lose water weight that you will gain back. There is a possibility of diarrhea as well.

Those would be huge pills to fit mother in them. :noway:0 -
All the gimmicks out there are total crap. The only thing that works for weight loss is a calorie deficit. Use that Apple cider vinegar to make some delicious pulled pork.0
