High impact

So I bought the turbofire dvds by Chalene Johnson cuz I just love her and I like her piyo dvds but felt like I needed something intense and I heard great things about turbofire. However, I have read that it is pretty high impact with lots of jumping and I'm worried. In the past I have ran and I loved it but always had to stop due to injured leg bones. I just figure at this moment I'm too over weight to run and decided to leave running until I've lost a considerable amount. But now I'm wondering if the impact in turbofire will also injure my legs or feet bones. Anyone have this issue? Would it better to do a little bit of the jumps then the rest of the workout following the modifier and slowly add in more of the impact so that my bones can adjust? I just don't wanna get laid up again with an injury but I want an excellent intense workout at the same time. Tips to avoid injury? I should mention that the info that comes with turbofire says the best shoes for this workout are crosstrainers so I'm gonna go buy some tomorrow.

    A cushioned shoe can help absorb impact, but if you're worried about knees or whatever else was previously injured, then yes, of course do the modified moves. See how it goes. Also, keep in mind that you can get a very intense low impact workout on an elliptical machine or bike (stationary or not) too. The best thing to do really is to ask a doctor whether the moves you want to do are going to aggravate your problem (before you do them). Also, please keep in mind that you don't have to do very intense exercise to benefit from working your heart and other muscles. In fact, if you haven't exercise for a while, it would be much better for you if you worked back up to that level of intensity. Less chance of injury, and greater chance of sticking with it.
