I have been researching online on ways to lose weight for months. I have looked at advocate Herbalife and others. Advocare is way to expensive for me but I like the idea of supplements. Which brings me to my question, can I purchase similar items as to Advocare's 24 day challenge at the grocery store? What are some diet plans on what amount/type of food and calories to eat? What kind of workout regimen should I start on? I haven't worked out in years and I eat extremely unhealthy but have the goal of 45 lbs weight loss ahead of me going from 205lbs to 160lbs and I want more than anything to succeed! Any ideas and suggestions will help!!

I suggest that you use MFP .
Buy yourself a food scale and weigh all your food. Eat your favorite food with moderation. Log all of your food at MFP.
Eat at a deficit (calories burned is greater than calories ingested). This help with decreasing body weight.
Start with any activity you can do. Walking is better than staying at the couch. Five minutes walking is better than zero.
Good luck in your healthy journey

    Excellent advice from socioseguro.
You decide what to eat. You don't need any special food or supplements or diet plans. Ordinary food is enough. Eat the right amount of foods (the amount of calories MFP tells you) every day. If you choose food you like, it's going to be easier to stick to your calorie goal. No food is off limits, but some food is more nutritious than others, and some foods have nutrients that other foods don't have. More nutrients will make you feel more satiated on fewer calories than less nutritious food. So it's smart to eat a variety of foods, try to get some foods from all the different food groups every day: Fruit, vegetables, meat/fish/eggs/beans, grains/potatoes, nuts/seeds, dairy, fats/oil. If you can cook, do that.
