Building up endurance and strength.

I've read up a lot on strength training and I start and then stop because I just feel I need to do cardio to lose weight. However I'd like to start again but also I've joined a netball team and need to build up endurance big time. I'm also 2 stone overweight so I need to combine building up endurance along with strength whilst losing weight!

Can anyone recommend a programme? I have a treadmill in the garage with a bench with some free weights. No access to a gym to to childcare. Thanks.

Strength training can help build endurance as well as help you lean out. I like to add cardio on days between strength training to further improve my endurance. Have you tried a full body/compound lifting program (SL5x5)? I'm still in my first year of barbell lifting and I have found it to be one of the best forms of exercise to help build strength, endurance and speed for my sport (tennis).

Read new rules for lifting- not the 4 women one. It breaks out programs for fat loss, strength and building muscle. Use library unless you take up a program.

4-6 weeks weights followed by 4-6 weeks plyometrics. Try to maintain your calories or be just a little bit under it if you want to lose weight

2- 3 full body strength sessions per week will help and then netball covers the cardio
