I received a Fitbit Flex from work. I already have a Garmin Vivofit, which I love - no charging and waterproof. Today I put them on opposite arm and I was very disappointed that the Fitbit didn't record my steps correctly. I walked for 5.78 miles (per MapWalk), converts to 12,207 steps. Fitbit gave me 9,218 and Vivofit gave me 12,320. That was a big difference. Very disappointed in Fitbit. I had the settings correctly for which hand. Any ideas why it doesn't work. I even counted steps and looked at my phone and the numbers were off.

Have you considered that maybe it was the Garmin and the Mapmywalk apps that don't work?

You'll probably see better numbers if you set your stride length for the Fitbit. I noticed the same thing with mine at first. Setting my stride length helped tremendously.

Thanks for your replies. I drove it in the car and the Garmin and mapwalk was correct. I checked my stride length and it was set to 0. I changed it and I'll see if that fixes it. Thanks0
