100g of vegetables?

Hi everyone! I'm just asking a few questions on weighing food. I had a bunch of vegetables for dinner the other night and I weighed out 100g of zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, onions, and some bell peppers and realized that was ALOT of veggies! I saw that they were all under 50 calories and I still don't believe that they were all under that, so I'm just asking is this true? I'm new to weighing since I used to use measuring cups! Thank you!

Yea, sounds about right, 100 calories of broccoli is like 35 calories.

Root veggies are more calories. I love carrots but they are twice the calories of broccoli, courgettes and green beans :( Flipping sugar!

    It's true

but I have to say I'm a bit stunned by you believing 100g of vegetables was a lot

a single tomato weighs around 60g IME

when I make vegetable stew which has many of the ingredients in your list but cooked, a portion is 500g and that's with rice an cheese on top (100g rice, 10g cheese, 500g veg stew = 305 calories)

Yep, it's true. Just had 106g tomatoes with my breakfast and it was 29 calories.

I love setting up a big bowl for spinach and weighing out 100g.

Lots of foods pleasantly surprised me when I started weighing, ice cream and veggies being the big ones.

Yep, they are super low cal.

100 grams really isn't that much (except maybe for something like spinach or arugula). I put more than that in a two egg omelet frequently and the eggs can cover the vegetables without problem.
