Lowered BMR

So, I went running today before P90X and as usual began to let my mind wander. I glanced down at my HRM to see myself kicking it at 175 and smiled. Then it hit me - if calories burned is based on how high my heart rate is, maybe my RMR/BMR are now lower!
I mean, it's logical, right? I started MFP with around a resting 60-70 BPM and now I am between 49-55 resting. That is a significant difference. I mean I haven't hit a plateau or anything yet I am just worried about the future really I suppose if it comes to it. I have increased my muscle mass significantly and "they" say muscle burns more than fat but really what if my body becomes more efficient at, well, living?
Just my stressing I suppose. Any thoughts?
EDIT: If you decide to look at my food journal for whatever reason just keep in mind that I frequently forget to log my dinner so don't rag on me to eat more than 1200 calories. I usually do.

Your body will become more efficient at burning calories and it will get used to the level of activity you are doing. As you lose weight your BMR will decrease requiring fewer calories to survive. Not necessarily few calories to feel sated. So, yeah, it is my understanding, and I'm no expert in the field that as you lose weight you need less calories to survive, your BMR will decrease and if you reach your goal and think you can maintain by controlling calories and not exercising you'll probably start gaining weight back.
Anyone else??????0
