I'd like to know people's thoughts on proper stretching techniques.
I have tight hamstrings and don't have a whole lot of flexibility and would like to change that!

I like the Limber 11 for general mobility: https://www.defrancostraining.com/joe-ds-qlimber-11q-flexibility-routine/
Really great coaching by Joe Defranco.
This article on Nerd Fitness addresses toe touching:

I think if you look at various articles a key theme is you need to be consistent. 5 minutes a day is much better than 35 minutes once a week0 -
Consistency is key to flexibility. A little bit every day goes a long way.
A stretch should be a little uncomfortable (muscle being pulled) but never painful.
Most people focus on static flexibility (holding a stretch for x minutes) but depending on your goals and activities, look into dynamic stretches as well. I often do a dynamic stretch routine before workouts and static stretch routine at the end.
Examples of dynamic stretches : Arm circles, wrist rotations, butt kick, hip openers, high kicks, lunges....0
