Calories to loose?

I'd like to loose around 5lbs. I'm 5'3, 20 years old and maintain currently on 2300. I am a college student so my daily activities consists of walking to classes (I go to a huge school), as well as 60-90 minutes a day of Elliptical (the machine says my milage is around 7.2 when I finish).
How many calories should I eat to loose?

    A pound (of fat) is roughly equal to 3500 calories. Divide that by 7 (days in a week) and to lose a pound a week you'd cut out 500 calories per day. To lose a half pound a week you'd have to cut out 250 calories per day. I'd probably start by aiming for 1800-2050 calories per day.

    With only 5 lbs to lose, aim for 1/2 lb/week....a 250 calorie/day deficit. So, aim for 2050 calories a day.
