Here's the thing. Some weeks, it's harder to deal with dieting setbacks, isn't that right? I was feeling despondent this evening because yesterday and today I had not been able to diet - just about managed maintenance calories both days. Cognitive distorsions all over the place eg this means I WILL lose my dieting resolve, this is what happens all the time when I try to lose weight: I AM losing my resolve, etc, etc.
I've been charting my daily total calories against my weekly weight. Red for days when I overeat, amber for maintenance days and green for successful dieting days. I was able to easily see that in the previous two weeks, I had actually had two red days out of seven and still lost weight for the week. I now feel great and ready to move on. No more catastrophic thinking!
