sick of being a fat chick, I want to be a fit chick!

I usually don't lift in a string bikini...and even if I did, I certainly wouldn't look like a man.
If you really want your friend's help, buy a couple of books (starting strength or all about powerlifting), buy a food scale and use it, be consistent. I suspect that your friend doesn't want to invest the time/effort if you aren't going to invest an equal amount of time/effort.0 -

She said I’ll have to start eating differently and lifting weights. She is totally ripped, but I don’t think that I want to look like a man. She also is refusing to help me out until I get my butt in gear. I’ve given up before I started many times before - so maybe she’s thinking it may motivate me? Anyhow, what are some easy ways to get started? I want to show her what I can do on my own!

One of the things that works for me is logging. It brings out my obsessive traits and I have actually stuck with a workout or meal plan just because I didn't want to break the streak in my log book.
The first thing you need to do is just start. Start moving. The main ingredient for success in this endeavor is consistency.0
