    (A) Watch cooking shows, get inspired to cook.

    (B) Screen the commercials -- I haven't seen a commercial for years, as everything I watch is on my computer or a DVD or from my DVR (fast forward commercials).

    (C) Realize commercials are BS and mock them. We did this back in the '80s and '90s, surely people are as sophisticated now.

Get a DVR, prerecord your shows and fast forward through the commercials.
Use TV time as exercise time. I put my hula hoop and resistance bands by the tv, and move while I watch. (Yes, I hula hoop with the remote in one hand.) :)

Stop looking at commercials if you don't want to buy stuff. They are trying to tempt you. That's what they are supposed to do and the do it efficiently if they hit a "want".

If the TV is causing you to feel this way then you may need to work on self control. We all see these commercials daily but make the decision not to over eat because we want to reach our goals.
Pizza and all other treats can be part of a healthy diet but again ,it will take self control.

    I disagree, I think pizza's the >:)

Then why would you order something you hate ? That makes no sense at all.
You created a thread about commercials tempting you but then said you dislike those foods. So it should've bother you so much if you dislike pizza so much ?!
Get some self control and you won't have to worry about the TV commercials .

Ditto. I start my show 15 minutes late so I can skip the commercials and still finish at the same time.

And definitely not Silence of the Lambs!

I dunno, liver, fava beans and a nice chianti seems like a perfectly balanced meal ;)

I got rid of my TV a few years ago, and I definitely think that not being exposed to all that food advertising has helped me. It always blows me away when I'm in my apartment's gym and I see food commercials on TV. I find myself trying to guess how many calories are in the food and how long I'd have to do whatever I'm doing to burn it off. I remember last year being at the gym and seeing commercials for that pizza with fritos corn chips on it--I think it was corn chips, maybe it was Doritos? Anyway. Insane! Did people actually buy that? Or those meals they advertise at like Wendy's and BK, where they say it's only $4 and you get the burger, the fries, the cookie, the soda--and it has to be 2000 calories, easy. All for just $4! Sheesh!

I also have a guilty pleasure of watching food cooking shows when I am working out. I especially like to watch Barefoot Contessa, 'cause she don't give squat about calories! I watch her just pour all that oil in there and think "Dude you just added several thousands of calories to that soup...what are you doing, Contessa?" Or when she makes fruit parfaits and she's like "Just three cups of sugar, all you need". !!!! "Just" three??? "We'll add a little salt..." ::adds two cups of salt to dish::

Nah...pizza is perfectly good for you. It's one of the few foods that has a good balance of all macros.

TOO MUCH pizza is not good for you. Of course, the same can be said of any food.

Why isn't pizza good for you? There are lots of people who track calories, macros, micros, etc that eat pizza in moderation, hit their weight loss goals, are incredibly fit and live happy, healthy lives. There are also a lot of people who come to this site and think that in order to be successful they have to give up all the foods they love, and as such, they either never start, or they are miserable, or they give up because they don't think it is sustainable. People just like to point out that this is not necessarily required.
