ok, so I just quit yesterday...and today I am eating everything in sight (and none of it was healthy) and now I'm stuffed. so - what are you suggestions on some low cal snacks that I can snack on for a while in the evenings until this goes away... I really don't want to be binging on unhealthy foods.

When I quit 19 years ago, every time I craved a cigarette, I had a glass of ice cold water, did a couple of jumping jacks (I had heard that getting your heart beating a bit faster replicated some of the effects of a cigarette) and then walked around the block. Usually the craving doesn't last long if you can just get your mind onto something else. I did have to learn how to drink again, because instead of sip drag sip, I was doing sip, sip, sip...
In terms of lo cal snack ideas, they have no nutritional value, but little rice crackers are great--very crunchy. Celery and carrot sticks are cliche, but there's a reason for that--they're good and good for you. Apples, frozen grapes...and wow, you won't believe how good they will taste once the muck is cleared out of your system...the rebirth of taste buds!0 -
grapes, strawberries and cherries are healthy and low cal and tasty, at least to me!0

gum, sugar free mints, chew on a straw and CONGRATS!!!0

There are lots of great snack ideas out there... but they are still extra calories. I'm not saying don't snack.... but there are other options to help. My dad quit drinking by learning to crochet. It kept his hands busy and he hasn't taken a sip since. Its been over 15 years now. I just recently started learning to crochet and I noticed it helps with snacking because my mind is so occupied I don't think about it.0

I had great success when I was losing weight by eating mexicali pickles. They are made by one of the big pickle companies. They are about a 6 or 7 on the spicy level and they don't taste that great but they would numb my mouth and make me drink lots of water which would make me feel full. They didn't have a crazy amount of salt like some pickles. Overall they are terrific low cal snacks.0

I like seafood sticks as they are quite low cal and high in protein. I also like rice cakes with various toppings. If im fancying something sweet then low cal hot chocolate satisfies my sweet tooth.0

Cherries are great, celery is obviously not the most tasty but it gets the job done.
I find that crunchy stuff tends to work better (I too quit smoking, last year actually).0 -
If you just want something to eat, try coco's pop cakes. They are the size of rice cakes (but bigger) and have 20 calories, or less, per piece. I've only tried the "original" flavor, which is OK (albeit quite boring) plain, but they make great vessels for peanut butter, hummus, etc.
