Is it ok to go under 1200 calories if you are banking calories?

I am going to a dinner Saturday night where it is going to be really hard to judge calories, and they will likely be high (hostess-cooked Indian food, likely lots of oil). I am not going to eat crazily, but I'm sure I will be above maintenance. I am trying to bank calories, but since mfp only gives me 1270 it is hard to get many if I have to hit 1200. Is it safe to eat less assuming my calories average out over 1200 for the week? Oh -- I do exercise every day for 1/2 hour (t25) and don't eat back those calories b/c I don't know how many calories there are, so I don't know how to adjust my intake for exercise. I doubt it is much anyway since my exercise time is really pretty short.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes, so long as you dont drastically under eat for extended periods of time.
Many people eat 500 cals a day, for 2 days each week so that they may eat at maintenance for the remainder of the week.
Average at least 1200 per day over the course of the week and you will be fine.0 -
If you go under 1000 MFP will give you a dirty message when you try complete your diary but other than that really short term its ok. Give yourself a few days before you weigh in again and make sure you drink plenty of water otherwise you'll log a false gain due to fluid retention.0

Do this for a short period.0

It shouldnt be a problem. I think it's more important to stay within your calorie goal when you average the last few days.

I think as long as you meet your weekly goal it should be fine.
I often save up for the weekend , when dinners out/ takeout wine are more likely to happen. So far the scale is still going down and I'm still doing normal things without having to worry about one blow out.
Just saving a 100 cals a day gives you another 600 over 6 days
That will give you 1800 to eat and really it's no biggie going over maintence one day/ meal just might set you back a couple of days .
Water weight from excess sodium may show more of a weight gain on the scale
Enjoy your meal x0 -
No such thing as "Banking" calories.0
