Calorie Tapering

Hi All
First thread I have written. I was after some advice. A member of my family is doing Weight Watchers. That way of doing things has never helped me with weight loss, however they told me that after they hit a goal weight, the amount of points they are allowed to consume goes down. Now to us that means a calorie reduction.
I'm wondering is that something that I should do after a while. Start Tapering down the amount of calories I consume. I'm at present told to maintain my weight I must consume 2500 per day, while to lose weight, consume 2250. Should I now be trying to eat say 2000 calories per day?
Any insight would be great thanks.

I'm pretty sure as you update your weight in mfp it recalculates your calories. As you get smaller, your caloric requirements get smaller too DAMMIT UNFAIR PUNISHMENT FOR WEIGHTLOSS AAARRGHH.
Sorry. Yes. Um. Anyway.0 -
Thanks for that. So far I have lost 13.2kg in 5 weeks just by eating right but my calorie limit has yet to change. However I did have a hell of a pot to lose lol.0

It doesn't change automatically. Re-run the goals calculator.0 -
I didn't think it automatically updated either.0

Yes, as you weigh less, your caloric needs will diminish.0
