If you can sustain it long term and it helps you meet your overall calorie goal, it's fine.

But it's no better or worse than any other method of doing the same.

"Low Carb" generally refers to people eating under 100g a day. "Keto" would be a sub-set of low-carb that is even lower.

The biggest concern would be to ensure you're still eating a wide variety of foods such that you meet all your micro nutrient needs.

Is there a medical reason for low carb? There are low carb groups that can help you.

I tried low carb years ago. I lost weight, but that's just because my overall calories were lowered. Anyway, I gained the weight back because low carb did not fit my lifestyle.

Now I'm not changing anything to lose weight......that I don't plan on changing forever.

No medical grounds just really want to cut out bread rice and pasta just to see if there's any advantage

If you can cut these things out for the rest of your life....then yes. There's an advantage.

The disadvantage comes when you cut these things temporarily. Then you get to goal and have no idea how to manage portions because you don't know what portion sizes look like.

It might be more helpful to log a few days of your "regular" foods. This will give you an idea of what you need to tweak, and what can be left alone.

One fine way to create a calorie deficit that works well for some, either because they prefer eating that way (fewer carbs, more fat) or are better able to control hunger. Not better or worse than other ways, in general, and not the way of eating I prefer for me. Low carb diets can be healthy diets or unhealthy diets depending on the particular food choices made.

There is no ideal. It depends on the person and the level of activity, as well as specific health issues, among many other things. The MFP default is a perfectly good place to start and then adjust as you like, or many like 40% carbs or focus on getting a minimum amount of fat and protein and don't worry about how many carbs they end up eating. For low carb, I agree that 100 g or less might be a place to start unless you want to try keto. Right now I'm trying to eat more carbs to see how that affects me, but I find it a little challenging and usually end up around 40%.

There's always a medical reason for low carb, just take a look around. Sugar causes and/or feeds most diseases. The fact is people consume way too much of it, and this includes carbs, because they all turn into sugar. Up until 10000 years ago we were all fat-burners, but now most folks are sugar burners because carbs are too plentiful.
Weight loss is just a side-affect of low-carb eating, the real purpose is to improve your health and extend your life. That's what low carb is about, and why it is the best way to eat. Hands-down! :)

I like lower carb because I just tend to have issues even with complex carbs in terms of not getting full from them and also triggering cravings for more and more. I just feel more content with a higher protein and fat content in my diet compared to carbs.
