It changes the way you think...

Hello, everyone!
I've been using MFP since early December and I have been incredibly impressed with the results!
I heard about it from a lifelong friend who dropped a TON of weight, and went from having a "bar body" to winning his first triathlon (at the age of 35) this past summer (he also went the Advocare route, which I'm not 100% sold on). Having been quite the athlete in my younger days, I admitted to him I was jealous of his success. We both have VERY competitive natures, so it was difficult to admit!
My goal for this spring is to compete in a 5K...the first appreciable competitive running I've done in probably 15 years. My long-term goal is to start kicking butt at athletic competitions in my area. I miss being an athlete...
I'm so glad to have found this app/site! So much helpful information!

I should clarify my heading...this app really HAS changed the way I think when cooking (something I love). I'm always thinking about healthier substitutes in my food now!
The other day, I made a grilled chicken sandwich (multigrain sandwich thins). I was about to reach for the ranch dressing, and instead I grabbed a tablespoon of guacamole. It was even better!
I also love jalapeno poppers. Instead of cream-cheese stuffed, breaded and deep fried, I mixed shredded zucchini, feta, cheddar, green onions, garlic, and an egg. Then I spooned it in fresh jalapenos and popped them in the oven. Fantastic!
I'm so glad I found this group. I'm sure there are other "foodies" that have had similar experiences. I'd love to hear them!0
