Fitbit double counting steps

My fiance recently started tracking in MFP. I connected her fitbit account to MFP to track her exercise but it has been making multiple entries this week. If she should get 300 calories from steps, that will appear at the end of the day, but the next day there will be two or three entries. Most of the time the additional entries are duplicates, sometimes there will be two of the same and then a third that is a much higher count. Ex: 300, 300, and 674.

Fitbit is the ONLY app connected to MFP and her fitbit isn't connected to anything else. My setup is more complicated with multiple apps. I initially had an issue like this but realized I had somewhat of a circular reference occurring with the connections. I don't think that's her issue.

Any settings I should check? Or could it just be a software glitch?

There have been issues with MFP and FitBit (and I believe other tracking devices). I periodically go through and delete the double/triple entries. Currently there is nothing we can do to fix it. Can only hope MFP and/or FitBit figure out what's wrong.

I have lost all faith in fitbit once I heard that my colleague gets steps for petting her cat...

I wonder if it depends on the Fitbit model. I have FB One and no sync probs at all.

I have the charge HR and dont have issues with it giving me more calories than I burned or double logging them. mine has been giving me less with MFP than I earned and the app half the time says it cannot connect to fitbit or it cant find my tracker. Im about tired of the idiotic thing

I have a Fitbit charge, and just purchased it last week. It seems to be very accurate on its own, but when connecting to MFP it gives false adjustment calories (usually way too low), does a double/triple entry or gives calories then takes them away within a couple minutes. At the end of each day, fitbits tdee (which would be more accurate), does not match MFPs tdee after syncing with Fitbit, by hundreds of calories.

I've been told for the past week or so there is a bug in the system-hang in there until it gets fixed, and go off of your Fitbit tdee then minus the amount of calories per day (for me it's 500 to lose 1lb per week). Before this bug I've been told Fitbit + MFP has been when synced has been accurate. I believe there are people working on it to fix the problem.

I get some Fitbit syncing glitches too but they usually fix themselves by the end of the day. It's been really helpful to have the adjustment for my activity level. There are some minor issues, like getting steps for petting my dogs or not getting steps if I am walking slowly. I consider the whole day of data and don't get too hung up on the minor stuff.

FYI, it's not your Fitbit -- MFP keeps updating and it's screwing everything up with syncing on all devices since Jan. 29th. MFP is working on a fix but who knows how long that's going to take. Most found it working again since Feb. 2nd, but mine is still not syncing correctly and this is also true for other members. Check the MFP "Help" desk for the latest issues with syncing.

MFP has been very buggy since Under Armour bought it.
