Slimming world

Hi guys...this week i joined slimming world..,has anyone else been on the diet? I've been on the paleo diet before which was a bit of a disaster as I didn't lose a thing even tho I was eating healthy...,to much meat oils fats and nuts...slimming world looks good but it seems a bit too good to be true....as much rice pasta and potatoes as u want?! Great will give this less than 15 syns a go and see what happens !!

I'd gain weight eating their diet. I'd eat far to much pasta.

Portion control is king.....you cannot eat as much free food as you want, those 100 cal yogurts and fruit VERY quickly add up

I agree. I'm doing both as I can get carried away with all the apparently free recipes with oats in. It's making me choice better choices of food though

Free food sounds great..,but I'm trying to limit the white rice pasta thing....I had a pile of chickpeas and sweet potato earlier and filled me up so quickly it would be hard to eat too much of it!

Slimming world does not advocate "as much rice pasta and potatoes as u want".

My wife has had great success on slimming world, and from an outsiders perspective, of all the 'diets' out there it appears on the sustainable and reasonable end of the spectrum.

I'd always advocate developing your own flexible dietary intake, by eating in a balanced and varied way, choosing the foods you like, within your calorie and macronutritional goals.

But if you like someone telling you what to eat, set rules, going to groups, group weigh-ins and the rest that comes with slimming world then I can't see it being that bad.

I started slimming world 2 Weeks ago I've lost 6lb so far on it but I'm logging my food on here still aswell to keep control of it. Even though it's supposed to be no calorie counting.

You don't lose weight by giving them your money. You lose weight by eating less and/or moving more. If the amount of rice, pasta and potatoes you want + other food you eat is less than your maintenance level, you'll lose weight.
  • I'm struggling with slimming world this time around. I follow the plan but obviously must be eating to much because not losing . So no, you can't eat as much as you like. That's beyond the science behind it. I'm logging at the moment along side but with slimming world principles to keep an eye on my intake and exercise.

I can't understand why anyone would pay money to diet when you have this amazing app for free ;)
