A moderate calorie deficit is all you need.0

It's a waste of time. Most scientific journals call the studies behind it total shams that aren't even worthy of the name "study". The FDA has outright called it Fraudulent, and getting injections of anything is dangerous, while eating less and moving more (AKA the ONLY PROVEN WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT) is safe and effective.
ETA: Same goes for the drops and pills. It's stupid.0 -
It's unsafe, very low calorie. Fatigue, muscle wastage, inability to focus, and these are the earlier problems. Long-term health effects are also known. Can you lose weight? Sure. Will you be healthy and learn what you need to be able to maintain the loss? Doubtful.
What's wrong with using the app/site here?0 -

What's your opinion on the oral HCG? Any other weight lose supplements you would suggest?0
-
It is a bad idea. It has been shown that the "supplements" do nothing. You lose weight because you are eating only 500 calories a day, and that is not wise! I mean, my 1 year old needs more than 500 calories a day.
You would be better served to plug your stats into this system, aim for a moderate loss (how much depends on where you are now), and follow the plan. Learn how to plan nutritious, satisfying meals and allow yourself "treats" within your calorie and macro goals. Learn to enjoy eating amounts that are right for you. And learn to enjoy exercise for overall health.0 -
Terrible idea. Just type in your information on this site and eat the amount of calories it recommends. Here is what will happen if you do the HCG. You will lose weight at first because you will not be eating hardly anything. You'll be happy and excited because your losing weight so fast. After a few weeks, you will break down and eat everything in sight because you will be so darn hungry. Eventually you may or may not lose the weight you want. Then when you finish this "diet" you will start to gain all the weight back and be right where you started. I have yet to see a single person, lose weight and permanently keep it off doing this.1

The only effective 'supplements' are prescription medications, which also carry a long list of side effects. You can lose weight and be healthy. It takes time, work, focus, commitment, and patience. The power to do it is completely within your control.0 -
Thank you guys..0

I know it would be great if there were quick fixes. The diet industry does so much more harm than good by telling people that they need the next greatest fad. You don't need anything other than some solid knowledge. Try reading through some of the thread here. You will get a lot of great information and guidance. You can do it! But start with reasonable expectations.
Here's a great place to start (lots of reading):

The best thing to remember is... If weight loss supplements actually worked, none of us would be here counting calories to lose weight.0

A girl at work did it and her hair fell out - so yeah, bad idea!0

Dont do it! I use to sell it and I did it several times...yeah I lost and I thought I felt amazing on it BUT I gained back so much after I went off of it because I was starving. And the last time I did it, I passed out. I have seen alot of people that it has worked for but overall its unhealthy and you will really struggle with not gaining it right back. A few people that have done good on it are those that cant workout as all and arent big eatters normally.
Do it the healthy way with slow and steady weight loss to keep it off. Hcg is not the way.0 -
Hello,
I'm writing to let you know that our Community Guidelines ( http://www.myfitnesspal.com/welcome/guidelines ) prohibit the creation of any forum posts, groups, or posts in groups that encourage the use of Very Low Calorie diets (including, but not limited to, VLCDs that use the HCG protocol).
MyFitnessPal has always promoted a healthy, sustainable, and gradual path to weight loss. But HCG products are typically promoted in connection with a very low calorie diet, usually one that limits calories to 500 per day. Research has demonstrated that calorie intake at these levels can lead to increased risk of gallstones, hair loss, constipation, an irregular heartbeat, and many other dangerous side-effects.
Moreover, numerous medical studies have shown that the results of HCG-use in combination with a very low calorie diet are indistinguishable from the results of the low calorie diet alone. In light of this research, the FDA has required the labeling and advertising of HCG products to state:
“HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or “normal” distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.”
Our guidelines prohibit any use of Groups or the Public Forums to support the use of HCG.
Regards,
psuLemon
