Thanks everyone. ...Some very interesting comments ...yes I know what healthy eating entails and that really wasn't the issue...I just couldn't understand how sticking within guidelines and exercising could project a gain rather than a loss.......0

OP...I have seen other threads where people have reported the same problem. I would contact the support center.
If you are only logging 1000-1200 calories it should not be forecasting a gain regardless of what your stats are or how you have set MFP.
If I have understood your question...I thought I had until I read most of the responses.
Thanks Annie...you've understood my question.☺0 -

It shouldn't and wouldn't if the app is working correctly.
You aren't sticking to the guidelines. There is no way MFP told you to eat 1000 calories and exercise without eating more. But it still shouldn't say you'd gain weight if you did.0 -

No MFP advised /recommended 1000-1200 minimum.....
My point/question was re how the app was working and why it was projecting a gain for sticking within this.....If I was below recommended then it would not have made any projection due to low cals.
Really...For the sake of shaving off 130 cals?0 -
It could just be an issue with the app. I can't get the recipe builder to work right now. Maybe, they are having an internal glitch.0

You messed something up that's all. Wow 1000 a day awesome and I try to do the gym 8-10xs a week. Twice a days usually. How do you get over night hunger? I feel I can eat 1000 all day and I'm fine but come 11-12am at night I'm starving. Any supplements or teas you take to stop cravings?
Food would be a good supplement to stop hunger
A 28 YO MALE should definitely be eating more than 1,000 calories0 -

Whoa! You are 5'7" and eating 1000 calories per day. That is crazy. I'm older and shorter than you and lost eating about 1500 per day.
This^^^^ You are projected to gain because you aren't eating enough.
No, that's not how the 5 week thing works, at all. It's pure math.0
