hi all - kind of a weird question, but i see most caloric values for pistachios as "1/2 cup with shells." so i'm assuming, i put them with shells in to the measuring cup? it makes me want to say duh, but since most other nuts come shelled, i was not sure. Thanks in advance!

Do you have scales? I weigh out a bowl full, eat them then re weigh the empty shells. Log it as pistachio kernels.

You can buy pistachio kernels and simply scan the barcode (using your phone) at the back of the bag/can/jar of pistachios to collect the nutritional information. I eat pistachio kernels and i'm able to log it in.

This is a good way to find out how many calories are in a food per gram, but not a way to determine how much is actually consumed. You'll need a scale for that -- you would weigh the nuts to determine how much you actually ate.
