i see people use the term when talking about their weight AND when talking about counting calories.
it's a little gray area and i am not sure what it means.

Most of the time on here it means: after the weight loss. Maintaining the new weight, not regaining. I've been in maintenance for 14 years. I've kept the weight off for 14 years. Make sense? In reality, maintenance is the more important part.
ETA: sometimes folks will say "maintain a deficit", meaning they keep their calories low enough to lose.

It is where you have lost all the weight you want to and count calories to stay there. I have a range weight range that I stay in.0
