Also what age are you and how long did it take you to get that time?

    Mile - 4:55 when I was 17
    5k - 17:44 when I was 16

I was in my second year of Cross Country and Track when I ran each.
I think I slowed down my senior year because I quit skateboarding to focus more on schoolwork so I was suddenly getting an hour less cardio everyday.

    Mile: 7:22
    5 K: 23:18

I'm 36. About nine-ten months of consistent running to get those times.

5K: 20:28 at the age of 33. It's almost 7 years ago and my most recent 5K was 23:33, trying to regain some speed and still hope to break 20:00 some day.

5k 28:34 though the course was miscalculated and ended up being 5.4 k after 8 weeks of a learn to run program at my local y(I didn't really train hard until the last two weeks and definitely skipped running workouts in the first 6) oh I was 37 at the time. I am starting to run again after a long layoff.

No clue, after I ran my marathon in October of 2014 I pretty much stopped running to start weightlifting. I've only run a couple times since then but I've been dealing with a lot of knee pain so I don't push it. When I used to do my 1 mile warmups before lifting my time was around 6:30. The last timed 5k I ran was a split from the marathon which clocked in at 22:42.
Right now if I could just complete a 5k and not limp for 2 days after I'd be pretty happy.

If we're going to way back when:

    Mile 4:35 1973
Three mile, as close to 5k as we got back then, 16:05 in 1974.

Recently (at 60), mile, 9 something and three mile, 30 and change. Both were part of 4.5 to 5 mile runs where I averaged 11 minute miles for the distance. My best recent run was 6 miles in 66 minutes. Now 61

41, male - mile under 5:50 for sure, 5K under 19. Started absolute non-runner took several years of consistent running to get down to ~40 min 10k range. It's tougher for women.

wow some impressive times.. It's amazing how much speed you lose when you don't run for a few months (Lots of home reno projects=too tired).. this really helps and motivates. Thanks!

    I ran a 21.40 5k when I was 43, two years ago.
I'm waiting for some injuries to clear up before I try and get close to that again.
I'd been running for about 18months at that point, pretty much complete newbie, fresh legs, and weighed 8lb less than I do now.
Amazing feeling of accomplishment and power.
