Atkins/Low carb question!

This may be a stupid question but I'm wondering what happens to the carbs I'm eating? (I'm on my first day of Atkins).
I know that when I put carbs in my body, my body uses it as fuel. And when I don't, it uses fat as fuel. So, even in ketosis, when I eat 20g of carbs will they be used as fuel instead of fat? If not, what happens to them? I hope I've phrased this ok! I hope it makes sense!
By the way, every time I ask a question on here there's always someone *****ing at me for asking. They say I should research - I have researched but couldn't find anything! You can't hate me for not being good with a search engine!
Thank you for your time!

Carbs are converted into glucose (sugar), and absorbed into your bloodstream.
You don't automatically start using fat for fuel when you don't consume carbs. It can take several days of consuming a very low carb / high fat diet, because your glycogen levels have to be depleted.
Check out the keto group here on mfp:

I know ketosis doesn't happen straight away, I was just trying to get my point across quickly. Thanks for the link! I'll definitely check those out now! :flowerforyou:0
