first, i think your normal day calories are WAY too low. women shouldn't be eating less than 1200/day even with exercising. 2nd, i am SURE MFP has settings for diabetics that would help with carbs and such. 3rd, i know nothing about Lent, but if you aren't eating enough, i am thinking that's starvation not fasting.

Hi @walk2health4me, I agree with the above post, it sounds as though you are eating too little normally. I think if you are learning to use your insulin pen, you should be getting advice from your doctor, or health advisor until you know what you are doing, not from us amateurs here!
I also drive MFP nuts as I have been on the 5/2 diet - probably not recommended for diabetics either, so I stopped logging my food on those days, it was driving me mad having MFP telling me I wasn't eating enough on the diet days.
I'm a progressive Christian, for Lent I am fasting between dawn and sunset, in the style of Ramadan - but I am drinking, tea, coffee, low calorie hot chocolate, water etc. then a sensible meal in the evenings and I don't fast on Sundays.
Please take care of yourself :)
