I gave up sugar for Lent! This probably won't end well but I'm going to try my best!

I don't understand what the difference is to give up something during lent vs any other time of the year.

Each year my family stop eating pork and beef. In addition, I'm giving up bread.

The reasons are religious and we aren't allowed to discuss it on open threads at MFP. Lent is a religious Christian observance. The other Lent thread was closed down when the atheists showed up to make fun of it in general. Hopefully this won't happen on this thread.

    Exactly this.

McDonald's. I don't need it anyway now since I'm eating better. Maybe I should add something else.

last year, I gave up coffee and beer. That was rough. This year, I've chosen not to give up anything but to commit to reading devotions 2x a week.

This is also a good one.
I have had an issue lately with keeping up with my novenas. I will make it one or two days and then slack off. This would be a great way to remind myself to keep on with it

It wasn't for Lent but I gave up bread this past week. I've already noticed a difference. I feel lighter!
