My goal is set at 0.5kgs a week. I'm 6ft female, 85.4kgs.
Here's an example of my day:
Calorie allowance: 1580, calories consumed: 1758, calories burned 300, = 122 remaining. When I complete the entry it tells me in 5wks I will PUT ON WEIGHT?! Why?? Does it assume that I shouldn't eat back any of the calories I earned through exercise or I will PUT ON WEIGHT?? This happens every log and it's very confusing. Should I only eat the 1580 to lose weight, no matter how much I exercise?

Sounds like a bug, possibly. How did you get your calorie goal?

I chose my goal weight as 70kgs, and a weight loss of 0.5kgs a week. And obviously I put in my height age etc when I set it up.

The exercise isn't causing it, because even if you were eating 1758 and burning zero in exercise you would still be in a deficit (if 0.5kg is 1.1 pounds that means you have a deficit of 550 calories a day built in, so it calculates your TDEE without exercise at around 1580+550=2130).

I would try going through the goal setting/height/weight/etc. again and making sure everything is correct and using the intended measuring system. Sometimes things get wonky.

That particular calculation "how much weight will I lose" is pretty notorious for not being reliable. If it continues to show incorrect numbers, you might consider just not closing out your diary (all values are still saved and you can still run reports, etc.)

Do not stop eating at least a portion of your exercise calories because of an incorrect calculation! Fueling properly for the intended amount weight loss is important.

Don't believe what that 5 week thing tells you. Trust the numbers on the scale and the tape measure and the fit of your clothes. If you are getting the results you want let it be. If not, then adjust.

When I enter exercise in the mobile app it shows the negative calories but doesn't seem to consider them in the five week calculation. When I look at my web site log in the exercise entries are not syncing. If I enter the exercise on tge web site the negative calories are used in the five week calculation and sync back to the phone.

    Bug somewhere for me.

I had this problem with exercise not syncing with the website (I didn't realize it for several weeks). It also wasn't showing up in my feed and if I reported a weight on my phone that wasn't working either. I removed and reinstalled the phone app and everything works fine now, though I lost those couple weeks of exercise data completely, so just keep that in mind.

So if you are using the goal from MFP, which is what I wanted to confirm, and also logging the exercise, that has to be a bug (sounds possibly similar to the things others are mentioning with exercise not syncing/being counted). I'd email tech support and ask them about it.

(I'd also ignore the 5 week thing in general, but I think they should know it's doing that.)

MFP does expect exercise to be logged and then eaten back, so it's not indicating that you shouldn't use those calories -- it's wrong according to its own supposed methodology.

I've seen at least one other post on this exact same issue in the last few days. Assuming your logging is accurate, it is probably a bug. Personally, I would just ignore it. The 5 week predictions are based on only one day's results, anyway. Just be consistent and ignore the predictions.
