I've never quite understood doing that, but if it works for you, who cares? i mean, i know whati look like thin and i know what i look like fat. but again, if it works for you... do it, i suppose.

it would clutter up my house and tick me off, personally LOLOLOL

I have posted some goal type pics on my pantry and fridge. Just gentle reminders of what I want to accomplish.

Do you do pinterest? If you do and you're honestly concerned with them believing in your sanity you could always make a board dedicated to body inspiration. Ir just wink at the nearest fam member as you pin up the latest on the fridge. Whatever helps, man.

Yeah, that is a bit much. Why can't you make it a wallpaper on your phone or something like that? If you lived alone, then so be it.

I don't think that seems odd at all. I used to hang my skinniest jeans on my closet door every time they got too tight to wear. They stayed there until I could wear them again. I thought it was a great reminder.

Why all the haters? It's your house. Do anything and everything that helps you meet your goals (unless it's going to run your family off, of course).

Good for you! I have found I no longer care what anyone thinks about what I am doing to lose weight. I am doing this for me and if it works for me I really don't care what it looks like. We all need to find what works for us and then grab it.

Here here. IDK if there are children in the house but I think that not being afraid to look silly is a good lesson for children. Conformity is for sissies.

    Hey, whatever works.
I printed out a bunch of flyers for an event I wanna compete in in a few months, and taped em to my fridge, bedroom mirror...just a friendly reminder to keep at it.

    That's what I was thinking!

Visual reminders that you see UNINTENTIONALLY, anecdotally have worked for myself and many of my clients in the past. "Imprinting" you goal in your head makes it easier to achieve IMO. Lol, of course one time I had some friends over and they were drawing crude things on the pictures for me to see.

I did the opposite - I posted a pic of myself at nearly my highest weight - in a shirt that I can't believe I bought because it looked hideous on me. Every time I looked at it, it was an encouragement to do better.

I didn't exactly post it all over the house. But hey, some people are visual people and need imagery. If that's the case, and it helps keep you accountable, more power to you. (Just don't be surprised if you get some interesting reactions from guests.)

I had a motivational pic as the wallpaper for my PC until tech support remoted in to fix something...
  • Meh. So you're a lunatic. We're all a little weird. Live and let live, I say.

I'm in the camp of do whatever you want and don't worry about what others think, but I have to ask: is that a current pic of you in your avatar or is that a goal pic as well? Just curious because if it is current then I think you look great and hope you aren't trying to lose more weight.

Also, depending on if you have kids or not and what their ages are, it may be helpful to post motivational quotes along with the pics so that they don't mistake body shape and size as being more important than emotional and mental health. Just my $0.02.

Communicating via type prevents people from giving context in tone and body language. So sometimes "exaggerations" and such can be misunderstood.

But yes, being exact and literal is a good practice for these boards - especially if you're talking about defining terms like "clean eating" and "low carb".

My gut reaction is that as long as it works for you, who cares? Like you said, you didn't wallpaper your house with pictures, just in strategic locations, so as long as it's not in their way, it's not their decision. When you find something that works for you, stick with it! ^_^

I did this I cut out a bunch of inspiring fitspo and taped them to my cabinets inside and outside in the kitchen. So I would be inspired to not go crazy in the kitchen. It worked! And my husband asked why are there a bunch of half naked women pasted to our kitchen?! Lol

I printed out my goal weight and posted in strategic locations, like in the closet, next to the scale, and on the pantry door. When friends come over they ask what it is, I explain, and they say, Ok cool. And that's the end of it.
