Heart based calorie burn calculator

I found this website with a calorie burn calculator, compared it to my hrmmm (Polar ft7), and surprising enough, was pretty close. Difference of 100 calories during a 2.5hour walk+circuit training.
Just curious how accurate these things really are.

Maybe that site uses the same/similar algorithm as Polar?
Doesn't make it accurate of course - especially for walking and circuit training. The estimates based on HR are highly unlikely to be accurate for those activities.
My FT7's calorie estimates were out by between 10 - 20% even for more suitable exercise such as steady state cardio at a reasonable intensity.0
