So, there I was...

...in the gym with my oldest son (13) gasping for air trying to keep up with this kid on an effing treadmill. It was no use. The kid is just a freak of nature. I mean how else could he run for longer than 5 minutes at a time? It was the moment I realized exactly how out of shape I was. For me it was embarrassing. A father doesn't want to appear weak in front of his family. But hey that was the reality of my situation. That was a few days before this past Christmas when I was at the heaviest I've ever been, 235 lbs. After that I immediately started exercising (at home) and eating better. My diet still needs work but I'm not consuming the excessive calories I was before. Today I finished my first week back in the gym and I'm down to 192 lbs. My goal is to get down to 170-175 and to get my diet in order.

Welcome! You seem to have a great attitude and that will go far. I've been going at this since right after the New Year and I'm down almost 20 lbs now and feel SO much better. Stick with it, you'll find support here and reach your goals.0
