Over the last several years, I have struggled with the injuries, aches, and pains associated with trying to run to stay in shape and burn calories.

I have now accepted the older me and have found peace with walking over running. It may take a little longer, and require more steps to burn the same calories, but I am finding this a much better plan and easier to maintain.

Although, I must admit the speed change is difficult, but I am getting there.

Have you thought about "jogging" on a rebounder? Granted you won't get outdoors. But walking is great, anyway you can find the consistency.

I've had some knee issues over the last year. I'm pretty out of shape so running just discourages me.
If you are able, walk on an incline. Depending on the grade, you can burn double just by changing that! I've been doing 5% and its challenging but keeps me better motivated for not burning out so quickly.

Bicycling is the way around this issue, and skiing in the winter! You'll never miss the speed of running again.
