using vivofit2 correctly

Hi all! I got a vivofit2 for myself to try and help me meet my fitness goals.

When I run on the treadmill, I usually time my workouts on my vivofit2, which ends up syncing to MFP. So I get allotted extra calories for that. But then my Garmin connect calorie adjustment will also so give me tones of extra calories...are my calories getting "double counted" now because MFP records my workout and Garmin gives me extra calories? (For instance, today a timed run gave me 400 cal of exercise in MFP, but my Garmin connect also bumped me up 400 cal. I logged 15000 steps total)

Guidance would be great! Thanks!
