Realization

i started out a year ago, and have lost just over 50 lbs. I was a size 20, and have slowly been working my way through my stash of smaller clothes I've outgrown. The smallest I have is size 14, and they were starting to look a bit ridiculous. I went shopping expecting to buy some size 12 pants. Turns out I fit into size 10

The rest of my post got deleted. I was shocked and it just hit me really hard how far I've come. I was prancing and preening all over the changing room. Most days I look in the mirror and don't see any changes.

I'd love to hear other stories of when people had moments of realization that they've actually lost weight.

Yay congrats!! I can't wait to get to that point.

As for me, I'm down about 17 pounds, first awesome moment: about 4 different people from work have mentioned how it looks like I've lost weight and can tell in my face. Second "awesome" moment, having to tighten up my bra because I've got room in it. (Not super awesome because I'd rather lose the inches elsewhere first but kinda awesome to reduce back pain! Lol)

That is wonderful! For me, it's the clothes, too. I don't think I have a good gauge on my size in my head at most weights. I know what my figure looks like, but I never know how big or small it is, lol. I'm at maintenance now, but earlier it was when I was trying on old clothes for the next season that I realized that I could probably fit in ones I didn't know would fit me. I lost mine so slowly that I didn't notice as much as I went along.
