MFP should have a section to track body fat as well. I could be "overweight" and still be healthy if my "extra" weight is muscle rather than Fatty McFat.

The problem with that is that you can't accurately measure it. Scales, callipers etc are no more accurate than a best guesstimate from a photo.

Not sure if I am misunderstanding you -but you can track body fat, as long as you have a means of measuring it. In the app, it's one of the options under progress, along with weight, various measurements and BMI. On the regular site, it's under My Home/check in.

I think you understood lol. I know the site cannot track it. But, same way you put in your weight if u had a way to track it at home like above mentioned calipers or an Omron or something you should be able to input it. If I am reading your post correctly this is possible on the actual website. Is there an option for it in the app? Perhaps I am just not finding it.

Just wanted to point out that BMI has a strong correlation with body fat percentage and the number of people who are "overweight" simply because they have a lot of muscle is very little. Ahem.

Anyways, you CAN track body fat percentage on both.

You just need to add it as a measurement you want to track on the website first.

On the website click My Home
    Check-In
    Track Additional Measurement
    Add "Body Fat Percentage"
    Save
    Done

Any time you want to track it on the site simply click check in.

On the app, click on progress and the plus button or add button. You can see the drop down to select weight, measurements, body fat, etc. or whatever else you add as an "Other Measurement" in MyFitnessPal.

    Best of luck.

This. My at home scale says I'm 30% body fat.

My home scale says I'm at 8%. While I'm gratified, I don't believe it.
