Day 5

Despite 4 days in a row with weight loss, each day I recognize that at times eat too quickly and eat too much food.
Part of my struggle is eating out of obligation. There have been times during my first four days that I wasn't very hungry at all, but because it was time for a meal, I ate more food than I was hungry for thinking I need the nutrients. Believe me, I get plenty of nutrients! If I ate more sensibly during times I am less hungry, then I would bring my daily calorie average down from 2600 to perhaps 2300. Yes, that's right, I have lost weight four days in a row averaging 2600 calories. This probably because I estimate I was eating 4000 to 5000 calories a day before my new commitment.
Last night when I got home from work late in the evening, I prepared a sizable dinner despite the fact that I was only mildly hungry. I did this because I had 1200 calories remaining. Considering the fact that I was only mildly hungry, there was no need for me to prepare over 800 calories worth of food and eat it all. This is eating out of obligation. I felt obligated to eat a substantial dinner because I hadn't had dinner yet and I felt my calories were too low for the day. I would have been better off with a 300-400 calorie meal.
I realize that the longer I proceed on the journey, weight loss will not be this easy. This is why I need to learn from my mistakes in order to lower my calorie goal in the near future.
