Egg Fast for weight loss stall

I had stalled in my weight loss journey. I eat LCHF and I heard about the Egg Fast to break through a weight plateau. I am on Day 3 of the fast. I will follow the egg fast rules for 5 days and then transition back to LCHF on day 6 and 7. So far, I have lost 2 pounds at my weigh in this morning for the beginning of Day 3. I am 0.2 pounds away from my lowest weight so I am hopeful this will work. If you want the rules and some great recipies go to the site IBreatheImHungry and put egg fast in the search bar. This diet is best for people that are already keto adapted. Otherwise, you may be in for a hard time. Hope this helps someone!

because you put yourself back in a deficit.

and low carb isn't necessary unless a medical reason dictates it .

I've lost 132 pounds by eating at a caloric deficit. Fortunately, no keto, LCHF, egg fast, or any other tricks have been needed. By maintaining my deficit and adding exercise as I'm able (to help contribute to the deficit as well as improve my fitness) I've encountered zero plateaus. My longest period of no loss has been 3 weeks. Been doing this for 20 months. I'm not bragging, just trying to make a point. CICO will not fail you, if you maintain your diligence to it.

What @lorrpb says, exactly the same for me.

No stalls/plateaus whatever....but i weigh ALL my food on a food scale ( no i dont use cups and spoons or serving sizes because they can be very deceiving.) Lost my weight in about 20 months too. Now maintaining and still counting and weighing but no deficit anymore.

It all come down to the deficit you create and maintain.

    http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2014/07/egg-fast.html

"What is an egg fast? It’s a (short term) diet that consists of primarily eggs, cheese, and butter. For each egg you eat, you should eat a corresponding Tbsp of pure fat in the form of butter, olive oil, or coconut oil. You can also eat a corresponding Tbsp of full fat cheese per egg. Doing this will result in an extremely low carb, high fat, moderate protein intake that will kickstart your body into fat burning mode."

OK, I love eggs and cheese and butter. But this sounds revolting, is completely unnecessary, and I call BS on the "kickstart your body" thing.

I remember that one. Nothing wrong with some very low carb days to drop some water weight, or a few days of dull eating to keep calories down.

But many people here will balk at anything besides daily, sustained, moderation without food restrictions.

Because many people here know that unless you have a medical reason there is NO reason to restrict any food you want as a magic bullet for weight loss or "breaking plateaus". If anything, restricting things you want because you think it's what's supposed to be done can be a recipe for failure for many people. In the long run, the trick is to find what works you, but that doesn't have to be a cleanse, or an egg fast, or juicing or any other silliness. Eat less than you burn is (barring medical issues) guaranteed. Plain and simple. Oh, and patience.
