Just getting ready to start

Hi there.
Recently rejoined map.
I have had serious health problems for the last year, which have finally resolved
I'm counting calories, walking and generally making myself move about a bit more, now I am able to.
I have just ordered an exercise book, as I have been reading about the need to build a certain amount of muscle for well being and to aid weight loss.
I do an exercise class once a week and try to walk about three times a week.
I'm really excited about started a specific plan, and getting myself in shape while losing weight.
Have got myself some sports gear.
My understanding is to do toning work outs two or three times a week, and also do aerobic three ish tin
Meds a week.
Any pointers, ides would be welcome.
I've been doing a lot of reading to try to get a sound understanding of it all
