Lean bulk

so I'm starting my lean bulk in a day or two & I'm putting my goals to gain 0.5lbs a week for a total of 2lbs a month, but i want to make sure its muscle gains and not fat gains. If I eat 300 calories over maintenance then I should but good right?

More details needed. Male? Female? height, weight, training routine, body fat start point?
You cannot avoid SOME fat gain, but you can control how much1 -
Roughly half will most likely be fat, even with a small deficit. It's one of the perils of bulking and is the reason why you follow a bulk with a cut.
But 300 over TDEE should be a good start. Aim to get about .8g of protein per lb (a little more if you would like).1
