What time to exercise

I am wondering for advice on what time do people exercise, in the morning, evening or any other time? I am trying to get into exercise and thought when is the best time?

The best time is whatever is convenient for you. I mainly do after work after work, at about 6:30pm.

^Yep. Whenever you can get yourself to do it. I tend to work out after work in the early evening or in the afternoon if I'm not working.

Whenever you will do it. What works best for you is the best time for you.

What part of your day can you exercise when it would not be easy to get out of that commitment? I tried working out after work but was always "tired" and as a result, I started slacking off. However, now I get up early and head to the gym when I am fresh and have found that it is great to start my day with energy AND knowing that I don't have the gym to "look forward to" after work. Now, I am NOT a morning person so it took several months before I would just get out of bed easily without cursing the alarm clock.

Yep, as others have said - whatever time you end up exercising is a good time to exercise. Try not to overthink it too much and just get out there and do it.

When I was in exercise mode, When I was younger ( early 20s - 40) I worked out after work. I'd have my clothes with me and go straight to the gym. I was lucky enough to work at several places that had onsite gyms, so it made it very easy. In My 40s things changed, and I did things differently. I started a job where I didn't have to be there till 9am, so I started exercising in the morning. A 30-40 minute walk, and then a video. I felt great all day.
Now that I don't work, I still workout in the am, it sets the tone for my day. I feel crappy when I miss a day and end up doing something light on my rest days.
My point in this short story long is that you need to figure out whenever it fits best for you is when you should do it.

Anytime is a good time. Whenever you feel the most energetic but also have the time to do it. No one time is more beneficial than any other time. Most days I'm busy until evening, so I do my workout after dinner, but it works well for me because my dinner gives me energy and fuels my workout.

This exactly. I'm just the opposite - if I don't get my workout done in the morning, it doesn't happen at all. I workout at home in my living room, so on strength days, I'm up before the fam and working out by 5:30am. yeah, I used to say I couldn't exercise that early, but I learned to make time! I run on alternate days, mid morning in winter, and at dawn in the summer to beat the heat. Love starting my day with a good workout - sets the tone for my whole day.

I'm an AM workout person too- because I know myself, that it won't get done unless I get it out of the way in the morning before I get ready for work. I'm lucky that I have a room dedicated for my workouts so I have no excuse :)

I go in the wee hours, because it is so efficient. No traffic, not many people in the gym, everyone's asleep in my house. And It's a done deal before 5AM. Any other exercise I do that day is bonus! like walking or biking for some cardio and outdoor time.

I prefer doing my cardio (power walk) in the morning. I used to go to the gym on my way home from work (I was lucky enough to have to drive right passed) but after they raised the membership fee 100%, I cancelled it. I've been able to get in a habit of doing some strength work (push-ups, pull ups, dumbbell work) in the evening. I watch recorded TV shows and exercise during the commercials. That being said and as already advised by others...whatever works for you.

Whatever time is convenient for you and what you will stick to.

I get up early in the morning to hit the gym to lift and in the afternoon I do my cardio at home. For me if I don't get up early to go to the gym I'm not going to go.

About two months ago I stopped drinking caffeine of any kind, I started working out after work instead of before, and I've been sleeping great since. I've never had trouble getting up in the mornings, so that's why I started the workouts before work a while ago. I feel better now, though, relaxing and taking my time before work, because I know I'll be running around afterwards! On Saturdays, though, I prefer the earliest morning workouts available.
You'll find your convenience and make it work. Do what makes YOU better and be happy about it!

Whatever time that works for you.

I'm doing after work hours, typically begins around 6pm or 6.30pm weekdays. Just joined a commercial gym near my workplace, so it's convenient.
