I was curious I bought turkey hill sugar free ice cream. It's 70 calories per half cup. That's 140 a cup! To me that's not bad. I was thinking about having it for a late night snack. Are sugar free ice cream, soda, jello are sugar free foods bad for you or can you still lose weight if you eat them with a healthy diet and being under my deficit

Generally if something is sugar-free, they've added something artificial to make it sweet. Personally, I'd rather eat the regular sugar and just fit it into my goals. My fave ice cream is Breyers Natural Vanilla - cream, vanilla, sugar, and I think it's 120 cals per 1/2 cup? Top it with fresh peaches or strawberries in summer, or drizzle with a good quality chocolate syrup - can't beat it.

Thanks but I don't want to ruin a treat with fruit and chocolate sauce, that wasn't the propose of the post. I'd also rather have a full cup of sugar free at 140 cals, compared to a half of regular at 120.

I'm curious if it's ok to eat sugar free foods in moderation. Can I still lose weight even if I have ice cream. I may have two cups, that's only 280 and il still be under my calorie deficit.

If you are still at a deficit, you will continue to loose.

Sugar free foods are okay in moderation.

Sugar free additives sometimes can bother your stomach so look out for it.

Yes, you will still lose weight eating ice cream whether it's sugar free or not, as long as you are within your calorie goal. I find candy is an awesome pre-workout.

Good to know. I'm under my deficit so I'm happy to here I can have what I enjoy! But no I wouldn't eat candy or junk food before working out. To me that's unnecessary

Watch out for sugar alcohols if you have a sensitive GI system. Some of them have a laxative effect

Strong stomach or not, sorbitol has a laxative effect. That is like saying you have strong stomach therefore laxatives don't work for you...

    Troll

 Yeah, a bit of contradiction there, no? LOL

Staying "hundreds of calories under", especially by eating sugar free stuff, sounds awful to me. Are you still eating 1500 cals a day, JayZ?

Well not to me it doesn't. I already stated I eat healthy, but to know there are sugar free snacks out there low in calories making me stay under my deficit Is awesome to me. I don't live of this stuff haha. Gotta eat healthy and moderate! Thanks for the chat!
