Starting over....

I am 45 years old and have always been in good physical shape. I was active at the gym 3/5 days a week for many years until about a year ago when I started a new job which keeps me seated 5 days a week for almost 7-10 hours a day! With this being said, I've gained 10 pounds and lost almost all muscle, particularly in my glutes and thighs! I have had enough and need to motivate myself to get back on track! I get home from work at 7pm and can probably get to the gym two nights and then on week ends...Should I go back to my original routine to start or refocus being I have bigger problem areas being I sit all day!? I even notice a change in the elasticity of my skin. Any feedback at all is welcomed! Have a great day (my work out gear is waiting for me at home, layed out on my bed...no more excuses for me!)

Welcome to MFP
I suggest you read the "Most Helpful post" at the beginning of this MFP board.
Congratulations for your resolution to start activity again.
Remember that exercise is for fitness and health
Managing your body weight requires focus on your nutrition.
My experience is that losing body weight requires eating at a deficit ( calories burned greater than calories ingested)
Buy yourself a food scale, weigh all of your food, log it at MFP. Focus on eating at a deficit
Good luck in your healthy journey0
