Strength training

Why doesn't lifting weight count any calories burning?

It does, but that section of MFP is from tracking progress not cals. You can enter "strength training" in the cardio section for an estimate of cals burned. I would point out that the benefit of strength training is not the cals burned, if is the maintenance of lean muscle (in a deficit, building muscle if in surplus), increase strength, increase bone density etc.

Lift away. The benefits to strength training go far beyond the 'calories burned' that can be logged.
