My hubby is a bodybuilder and an alcoholic. He actually poses in the bathroom mirror every day while at the gym. Watching his progress helps him....As you know body builders in the off season do not follow a strict diet. You can still count protein and carbs without eating "clean".
Best of luck to you. I live with a drinker, I know his daily struggles. Having family and friends that don't drink helps a lot too.0 -

If drinking is a problem for you, I would address that first, and try to cut back or quit alcohol. Examine and address the underlying issues that are compelling you to drink. Try to get and stay on a regular schedule with eating and sleep, as being hungry or tired tend to increase the desire for a drink. Try to engage in some activities that involve other people so you don't find yourself isolated. Keep something sweet around and have that in lieu of alcohol. Once you get the drinking issue squared away your motivation will probably return. It's a vicious cycle, the more depressed you are the more you want to drink, but the more you drink the more depressed you will get. I hope you start feeling better1

Google "big on a budget". Your diet doesn't have to be perfect, just provide calories & protein.
Also engage in other life goals besides getting big, so you feel good about yourself.
