Hello all. So I've been training with my trainer 3x a week for 45 mins intense for over a year. I've only eaten slightly better until recently(3 weeks ago). I started pre-prepping my meals. 1cup of starch, 1 cup of veggies and not enough protein, mainly chicken. I prep them for business days. On the weekend? Forgetaboutit. Any tips in eating better? My trainer says until i reach my goal weight, no cheat days :(

    Google "high protein foods"
    Print the list
    Go shopping

Not sure what you are doing for recipes, but find 20 you like and start there.

See, I just don't believe in cheat days. I believe in saving a few calories each day for a treat. Otherwise, I will TRULY derail! While I have been at maintenance for a year, I still save about 100 calories for "fun" whether it is some frozen yogurt or one or two pieces of dark chocolate that I let slowly melt in my mouth. After a lot of trial and error, I found this to be the best thing. I also found that giving myself permission like that means that more times than not, I don't actually consume my daily treat. Reverse psychology on myself :)

As far as your weekends? Pre-prep just as you would the weekdays ... personally, I would reduce the starch a little and add some healthy fat and boost the protein, especially if you are training 3x a week. Your muscles need it for repair!

Why do you intentionally prep meals with "not enough protein"?

There's no cheat unless you go over your calorie goal and don't meet your protein goal. So, plan two meals with high protein, and have whatever you want for the last meal.

There's absolutely no reason to deprive yourself... fit what you like in your calories and macros...
