Feeling lightheaded.

So, im a postman and for the first time in 3 years working i have decided to try and lose weight. I have worked out that compared to my days off i can walk between 5-7 miles extra each day, which includes walking round the office aswell.
I have always struggled with feeling lightheaded if I don't eat properly, so i would always have chocolate and sugary snacks with me which always helped. Now im trying to be healthy my first two days i have felt lightheaded, had hot flushes and felt the urgent need for sugar. In the past when i have forgotten to make a lunch i have had to sit down and felt really rough for 5+ minutes.
What can i take with me on my round that is low calories but good for energy? I now have a boiled egg sandwich, a banana and a sweet apple around 11-12 along with oats and yoghurt with berries at 7.30ish.
Today i felt much better, but i wondered if things like nuts would help? But i am trying to stay low on calories which nuts are not, i believe? Sorry if this is the wrong forum for it by the way. Was undecided between nutrition and exercise!

Have you had your blood glucose tested recently? What your describing could just be extreme hunger - in which case, yes, a handful of nuts, some cheese, or some wholegrain crackers could probably help you avoid the hunger feeling. ETA: Also make sure you're staying hydrated.
With this kind of extreme reaction to hunger though, I'd consider going to the doctor.0
