Many of us have been in the OP's shoes, trying crazy fad diets at one time or another, falling for gimmicks and promises of fast weight loss. I can't fault the OP for that.
What drives me nuts is when people come here posting about a fad diet they're trying, knowledgeable members tell them why it's a bad idea, try to educate them about healthy, sustainable weight loss......and the OP says, "Yeah, whatever. I'm doing it anyway".
At that point, I'm out. Do whatever you want. Starve yourself before exams. I'm sure everything will work out great.

Just to hit both threads (and because I did math) here's what I posted about the diet in @yoamba 's thread:
To be clear, criticism of this harmful diet is not the same as criticism of you. This diet nor any other will magically jump starts weight loss. This diet nor any other will remove toxins. This diet nor any other extremely low calorie diet is safe for someone anywhere a healthy weight. This diet is actively harmful.
To put it in perspective, here's a day to day breakdown for anyone else considering this "experiment." I am sure I missed some magic details, as I got this information without buying anything.
Day 1.
Fruit, not bananas. Melons and apples are recommended. Even ignoring the lack of fat and protein, this is bad from a purely fuel related perspective. I doubt anyone will cram in the massive amounts needed to hit MFP's calorie goal because you'd need...
9.56 pounds of casaba melons, or
8 pounds of honeydew melons, or
6.60 pounds of watermelon, or
5.15 pounds of fuji apples
...to hit 1200 calories.
Day 2.
Eat vegetables, no fruit. One baked potato allowed in the morning. You can "enjoy" all vegetables in salad form, with white or wine vinegar, lemon and herbs for flavoring. No salad dressing, because that's just wacko. I believe beans and lentils are right out as well.
So now you need to approach MFP's minimum calorie goal with
1 baked potato 130-280 calories according to MFP
1200 calories with leafy greens would be...
17.85 pounds lettuce, or
10.16 pounds spinach, or
10 pounds cabbage.
Other vegetables would be more calorie dense and cut down on the sheer bulk, but as one of the websites I referenced specified "salad" these are the ones I looked up. Again, the volume needed to get adequate calories is ridiculous. Again, there are no fats or proteins allowed.
Day 3
Fruits and vegetables, no bananas or potatoes. One website recommended having your fruits and veggies in smoothie form this day. I assume it is because you are losing the power to chew.
Day 4
Out of pity, and because you've probably got hemmeroids by now, you are allotted 8 bananas(840 calories) and 3 glasses of milk(270-450 calories). You will need the fuel, for today the unlimited cabbage soup begins.
Day 5
Up to 20 ounces of lean beef, and exactly 6 tomatoes. Why beef? Why not. You can hit 1000 calories on just 20 ounces of 90% lean ground beef, but why nothing and then 1.25lbs of cow? Why all the weirdness? Would 5 or 7 tomatoes break the cleanse? Why not just eat like a normal human all 7 days?
Day 6
This is the day that you finally, finally get to eat in a way that resembles a normal person. Unlimited vegetables and lean protein! There's no mention that cooking oil is allowed, or fruit, or grains, and I think lentils and beans are still out.
Day 7
Brown rice, lean protein, vegetables, fruit juice (no sugar added) and relief that the madness has almost ended. You are supposedly "cleansed."
After wading through the online pit that was these diet websites I can only conclude that you are supposed to give yourself a stomach ache to rival all others. This way, when you feel like crap because you're eating like crap you may imagine toxins are being expelled. Also, when you are light headed from insufficient foods, you will feel euphorically cleansed. Don't buy into it.0 -

Pretty sure by day 7 I wouldn't be able to get out of bed:
Day # 1 –Consume only fruits throughout the day. You can eat all fruit other than bananas. Good choices include melon and watermelon. Drink plenty of water. Another option is to place a variety of fruit in a blender and pour in a thermos. This works great if you are headed out to work, school, the gym or wherever.
Day # 2 – Eat all the raw or cooked vegetables you can consume. You may start your day with a baked potato for breakfast with oil or butter. You can enjoy all your vegetables as a salad and use white or wine vinegar, lemon and herbs for flavoring. Do NOT use salad dressing. You’ll blow the whole diet.
Day # 3 – Combine both fruits and vegetables in any amount without bananas or potatoes. Fruits and vegetables can be combined in a blender as well for a quick way to consume them on the go.
Day # 4 – Milk and bananas are the choices for the day. Eat as many as 8 bananas and drink at least 3 glasses of any kind of unsweetened milk. The potassium in the bananas and the calcium in the milk are a key part of this diet. This is the day you can enjoy the special soup along with your bananas and milk. Most likely, you will not be able to eat all 8 bananas in one day.
Day # 5 - Enjoy a celebration meal of beef and tomatoes that includes two 10-ounce portions of lean meat or hamburger with six whole tomatoes. It is important to increase your water intake to help your body get rid of the uric acid that you will be producing on this day. Aim for an increase of water by one quart.
Day # 6 – On this day, you can consume unlimited amounts of high, lean protein and vegetables.
Day # 7 – Whew! The last day consists of eating all the vegetables you can consume, fruit juices and brown rice. No meta. Make sure the fruit juice is not from a concentrate or bottled with added sugar. If you have access to a juicer, the sky is the limit with creating your fruit juices.

Hii... Well, I did it... GM diet for the 7 days. It simply helped me plan my meals better and eat less. I lost a little less than 3 kgs with it and since then I have been trying to eat healthy. And for the first time since ever, I lost 6.6kgs. My back is better. I am also getting physiotherapy for my back and light exercises. Fad diets are not very good but it did help me kick start healthy food habits. Thank you for your inputs and have a beautiful day everyone!!0

It's more of an experiment. You seem to be very upset by my "contradictory" post, that's unfortunate.
The contradiction was more humorous than anything.
However, the people on mfp work really hard on their own free time to help educate people about weight loss. When people post about cleanses, jumpstart, and detox nonsense they're there to set the record straight (and I'm ever so grateful I've learned so much here and haven't had to make the same mistakes others have)0
