Tough Mudder date change

Back in September, I signed up to do TM on a Saturday in August. My team can only do Sunday now so I asked TM to change the date. After many back and forth emails, including emailing me to ask me if I could switch to my team, they basically said sorry no sorry, it'll cost you $48 more since the ticket prices went up.
I don't see the logic behind this since I'm a returning TMer and it costs them nothing more to change my date. Last year, we had a 8am start time but were able to start later...they don't care.
Any ideas?

Sorry, I have nothing to contribute. I'm just curious as to the location of the event and also If you've done anything like it before? I'm interested in trying a spartan race this September.0

I did TM last year in Andover, NY. I liked the course but I honestly felt like TM could've been tougher. Spartan race is pressing them into becoming better so they've made some new course changes and are making things harder which we'll enjoy more.
TM is more team-based and helping others out whereas Spartan race is all for yourself and people actually track their times. I'm not sure about the difficulty of each race but I think TM is harder.0 -

What does any of this have to do with anything?0 -
To the OP, it sucks, and maybe they don't have to charge you but it changing the date does affect the organizers in ways that changing times doesn't.
The TM customer support has always been very helpful to me. I would try them one more try ( maybe ask for a discount on the up charge?) and if they still said no then I just have to suck it up and pay the extra fee. It's not their fault that your team didn't decide to change until this late date0 -
IME, TM has been much like Ironman - awfully big for their britches. They put on great events, but they don't often feel the need to accommodate participants since they are generally operating at capacity. If they weren't receptive to your initial request, I see no reason why that would change.0

Poster above me asked what I thought about TM and Spartan Race.

After several back and forth emails and explaining to them that if I can't change to Sunday, they'll lose other people who want to sign up with me and lose $$$, they changed me to Sunday. Problem solved.0 -

Lololololol! I didn't even realize you were the OP. I thought it was a random poster popping in with irrelevant information. Congrats on getting your date changed.0
